Posted 4/16/2009 10:13:05 PM | | | Hello everyone,
My name is Jimmy and I'm new here so I decided to say hello. Hello. I don't have much experience working in an established programming/development company but I am not exactly a newbie when it comes to .net. However, having said that, I don't consider my self an intermediate programmer neither. Thus this is the reason I joined the iedotnet group. My preferred programming language is C#.
Since I have never worked in an established company, what workflow do you guys use when creating a .net site?
My workflow consists of working on the design in photoshop, then translating it to a css compliant html. Then I start thinking about what functions I might need to use and start in Visual Studio and start coding. The database gets created as I start writing classes and methods.
I test as I go along and once it works, I deploy to live site.
Now since I haven't worked at an established company I don't have a staging server and I don't do peer testing or unit testing(don't know how to do that anyway).
I guess I ask about the workflow question because it seems I think that I am missing some steps that I think "professionals" might use.
So I ask again, what workflow do you guys use when creating a .net site?
Thank you.
