Hi -

I've got alot of experience developing MS Access applications as a frontend to SQL Server.  After quite a bit of "studying" Visual Studio and .Net, I've come to the conclusion that I need to take a leap and do some actual application development before I'll really wrap my head around all the new concepts in .Net.

So, here's my idea.   I've put together a little Access application that I can send to you (or post here on the forum).  We'd develop a similar application in .Net that would enable those participating to have a template application for future projects.   Remember ... two heads are better than one.  Let me know what do you think?

Do you mean we would all work on the .NET projects together?  Or you mean someone should build and post it for comparisons only?

I'd be down for some build together action, especially if you already of the project in another format.

Yeah --- I'm thinking we could build the apps together.  Also, this first project would be geared towards .Net beginners (like myself).

How about we start by introducing ourselves at the next meeting in March.  I can demo the Access app and then we can gauge the interest level.  I'd to make this a no pressure participation project. I realize that all of us have commitments and busy schedules so I don't want to add to that.  The goal is to make the .Net learning curve shorter for those participating.

I got home from the meeting not long ago and it appears we failed to hook up.  Perhaps we can find a way to gather online.

Hi Ed -

Volkan is doing an ASP.NET class this weekend (and for the next 12 weeks).  I'm going

to support his efforts and attend his class.  Why don't you join us as well?
