Hi everybody,
i talked to Nick, he will come to campus and open the doors for us. We ll try the lab again, if not we ll pick a classroom like last week.
i ll be covering membership provider, roleprovider one more time as you guys requested for.
As we lost 2 weekends; one for firestarter event, one for memorials weekends, we wont be able to have a class next week. The campus is closed, nick is doing us a favor and will drive to campus for us So let's enjoy our last class tomorrow :_

as today there is a commencement at cal state, the labs will be closed, we will meet by the labs at the third floor, and then look for a classroom in the first floor.

Adding a static item to dropdownlist when it is binded to database

Hi,
today in the class, i was asked how to bind the dropdownlist to a sqldatasource, as wells as adding some static items. It is easy, you set the AppendDataBoundItems property of the dropdownlist to true, and add your static item., an example is below: there is a dropdownlist binded to sqldatasource which gets the categories from the northwind database, and also a static listitem is added to the dropdownlist. you can also see, how we can use requiredfieldvalidator :
